A Drive

After work today I decided to go for a drive around Tooele county and snap some shots to clear my head. Apparently the weather decided to skip fall and go straight into winter because today we had snow. Yep, you know them; the white flurries that usually make an appearance mid-Nov came a falling down today, creating a gorgeous mountain scene if I do say so myself. Oh winter how I will miss you as I am in the Philippines. I guess I should start getting my fill of warm coats and hot chocolate.

....

Don't you hate it when you wake up at 5 in the morning, drag yourself into the bathroom to get ready for work and find a spider on the wall, and you look away for 2.5 seconds and then somehow it's mysteriously gone!? Yeah that happened to me today. Also don't you hate it when you're late to work, and not in the mood to work, and you're hungry and tired, and you have a massive canker sore on your cheek from where it was attacked by your toothbrush, and yet somehow you struggle past the pain to down three donuts that you don't really need to eat because they're going to end up on both hips and add to some back fat. Yeah that also happened to me today. Oh and don't you also hate it when there is an avalanche of lettuce that ends up on the floor of the produce department and all 399 Macey's "guests" walking around somehow seem to not notice, and then, oh LIGHTBULB there's lettuce on the floor, and then they all simultaneously shout at me across the department, "Excuse me, this lettuce fell." "Oh really> why don't you freaking pick it up!?"  Man that totally sucks. And you know what else sucks? Stepping out of the shower to realize you just washed your hair with 2 different types of shampoo which leads you to have to finish the conditioner process in the bathroom sink. Holy cow sometimes I just wish I were an Oscar Meyer wiener. That way everyone would be in love with me. But you want to know what makes this day of suckage just all fade away??? Cozying up in my big bed and opening these bad boys.  The word of the Lord wipes away all grief. Amen.

Scenes From a Rainy Day

I woke up this morning to a glorious rainstorm. I snapped a few shots, and just in time too because just as in Tooele fashion, the rainstorm lasted all of 29 seconds. Cue the sun.

Maceys with an E

So I work at Maceys...the grocery store...and my shift a lot of the time is from 6 am to 2 pm which means I get to do the wet rack. It's whatever, but wet rack is just produce slang for the section that holds everything that needs refrigeration...and it has the rain on it...yeah. So anywho...I get to take everything off, spray it down, and put new product up. This usually takes me about 4 hours. Well on Friday I did a SLAMING job. I mean just look at these pictures I illegally shot. (phone usage is totally frowned upon) I was so impressed with myself, and went around telling people to look at my rack. Now that I think about it, maybe I shouldn't have said those exact words.....

What up.

It's Time to Rendezvous!

Today after work, mom came in and bought some green Anaheim peppers and Lindsey roasted them for her. We have sold a ton of these to the good people of Tooele! What up! Now they are cooling on several cookie sheets in our refrigerator. yummmmmm.

Mom, Dad and I headed over to the Rendezvous (Yes I googled the spelling of that word. What is it with these words and their silent letters!?) There were a bunch of teepees/tents with people totally decked out in rendezvous garb selling their homemade goodies. I was totally impressed with these people who must do this all the time in the dead of summer with a dead animal hanging around their neck. Dedication people, that's what that is! I bought some leather cord for a bracelet, and some feather beads to make some earrings. I also bought some homemade root beer that came in a bottle with a cork! So awesome.  Good times were definitely had.
