Teeth, Temple, and Treats

Last Thursday I went to the Den-teest for my mish papers. I passed with flying colors! Then my pal Molly and I went into Salt Lake to the temple, which we have been doing for a couple of weeks now. After a lovely time in the temple, we sat in Temple Square chatting with some sister missionaries. It made me UBER jealous that they were already on their missions, and I still have to wait. :( Then Molly and I wanted to treat ourselves to a scrumptious/fancy dinner so we hit up The Rodizio Grill. That place is FAB-TAB! We had the salad bar and the endless meat-on-speer option. SooooOOOOOooooo Delicious! The strangest thing we ate was a chicken heart which tasted just like...chicken... strange. Then after we were soo stuffed that we couldn't eat another bite we ordered a dessert which consisted of cinnamon pastries filled with cream drenched in caramel and vanilla ice cream... divine. After we rolled ourselves out of the restaurant, we stopped in some of the shops at Trolley Square. There was a neato place with a lot of cool ethnic jewelry and tapestries and a pop culturey place that sold such awesome stuff! Do enjoy the pics I snapped of our day!

Green means, " GO! Bring us meat! Especially grilled pineapple." Man, I didn't know a color could say so much.

Molly loooved the food.

I lova food.

Big Day

Today was a big day for me. You wanna know why? Well....I'll tell ya. I had my very FIRST Big Mac. No, my parents didn't intentionally deprive me of this burger my whole life, and yes I did say it was my first Big Mac...in 20+ years. And let me tell you, I wasn't a big fan. I mean, it was tasty and I licked my fingers once or twice, but it wasn't anything compared to my fav the Big N' Tasty. That secret sauce just didn't do it for me I suppose.
On the bright side, as my parents and I sat and people watched whilst licking our delish McDonald's ice creams cones, a gaggle of young boys (prob like 6th graders) walked in holding Macey's bags. Then they proceeded to each pull out their purchases as they nestled into their booth. Each boy revealed a different soda-Jones, Fanta, etc. Then the last boy pulled out a Fuji water. I liked that kid. Very clever and original. The best part was watching all 4 of the boys try and help out the Fanta boy with his bottle because apparently they didn't know you can just twist the cap and it will come off. Instead they tried multiple ways to pop it off using the table and chairs as leverage. But...to no avail. Eventually they asked the cashier for help who simply twisted the cap off which completely amazed the boys. Topic of conversation for these boys for the rest of the day: "Dude! She totally popped that cap off with her bare hands."
I love people watching.

Sometimes I'm OCD

I know, I know. I keep changing my blog background. I just can't find one that tickles my fancy ya know? Frustrating. Anywho...I might stay with this one for awhile because I like me some vintage photos!
Peace and blessings. Peace and blessings.

Tunes

The other day I was bravely facing our basement full of basically junk and other precious items, (junk) and I came across my parent's album collection. As I flipped through the records I found classics such as Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors." Man those suckers ROCK! So I found a cheap turntable on ebay in brand new condition and after patiently waiting it arrived safe and sound. The first album I played was of course MJ's. (who else...) and rocked out to Billie Jean. There is just something classy about listening to songs on a good ole' record player. The best part about the record player is that it connects to my computer and I can record songs straight from the record and they save as MP3s. Genius. Unfortunately the songs are a tad "recordy" and not as high quality as I prefer, but hey, it's still pretty sweet.

Also I'm pretty sure the movie "The Blues Brothers" is an excellent film. And that's all.

P.S. "Orange whip? Orange whip? Orange whip? We'll take 3 orange whips."

Lately...

I finally bought a Golds Gym membership ONLY because they offered me a month-to-month membership. That was 2 weeks ago, and I've only gone 4 times. I'm a slacker, but I'm getting better. Yesterday I mustered up the courage to go swim laps-something I haven't done since I was a sophomore in high school when I played water polo. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Luckily I had the WHOLE pool (all 3 lanes...) to myself so I didn't embarrass myself in front of anyone while attempting to do the somersault/smoothly glide into a new lap maneuver, of which I still haven't perfected. I suppose it's normal to get gallons of water up your nose while attempting this feat? After I was done swimming I went into the wet sauna (spa?) and let me tell you, it was very hard to breath in there and I felt like I was in an egg. So I went into the dry sauna where there was a guy-fully clothed sitting near the door. I walked in still wearing my swimming suit, swim cap with goggles, dripping wet and sat on the opposite side of the room from him. Then the awkward conversation began. He mentioned how warm it was in there (I mean NO DUH we're in a sauna) and I said it was better than the wet sauna. He then proceeded to explain how it was "broken" not too long ago, and I nodded and "ah-humed" at the appropriate times trying to act interested, when in fact I was just avoiding eye contact so he wouldn't jump me. Needless to say, I didn't spend too long in the sauna.

Here's to hoping your gym experiences are less awkward than mine.

P.S. I would DEF drive this car. Just sayin.

Just Call Me Tibby

Well folks, it's official. I am the least cool girl in school. I am currently sitting at home with my cats while my friends are out and about traveling the world. And by the "world" I MEAN the WHOLE world. I have two friends currently in grand ole' Paris, one friend in New Delhi, and another friend in Israel. How lucky am I to be stuck in exotic Tooele, UT while my friends meander through foreign lands? I'm a lucky duck indeed.

Before Aubrey left for Paris, she stayed with me and we watched the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Sisterhood of the traveling pants 7
Yes, it's a girly movie, and yes, we are girls. All you math geniuses out there just add two and two together. Anyway...we decided that I am going to be playing the role of Tibby this summer as I work begrudgingly all summer at Macey's, "your friendly neighborhood grocer." Maybe I'll film a documentary (doubtful) or maybe I'll befriend a girl with Leukemia. (even more doubtful) But I guess all in all my summer won't suck too bad because at least I don't have to risk being kidnapped on the streets of Paris, or robbed by the people of India. Lucky me.

P.S. here's a great big Israeli shout out to my pal Emily! You eat that hummus!!!
